How to set up EFT player ESP for the first time

Guide Q&A

First-time ESP setup on Escape from Tarkov should mirror what experienced players say when they review suspicious VODs: readable contrast, different colors for USEC/BEAR vs AI Scavs vs player Scavs, and a hard max distance so you are not tracking people across half of Streets. Turn on boxes + health, leave skeleton optional, and keep nameplates short. Test offline or in a scav run before a geared PMC raid. Reddit discussions repeatedly note that “perfect floor picks with no audio” is what gets people accused — your overlay should reduce surprise, not script every clear.

Use the portal player-ESP tab: enable Visible Check if you want fewer through-wall snaps into soft aim later, set Out-of-Screen arrows only if you can resist chasing every ping, and save a “CQB Factory” preset with shorter range than your Woods loot preset. After wipe patches, re-check colors — UI scaling changes can make tags unreadable and push people to crank opacity until the screen screams “ESP.”

Factory preset at ~80–100 m changed everything. Wide Interchange distances on Factory made me prefire like the Ground Zero clips people post.

Guide answer

Save separate PMC and Scav ESP profiles. Mixing AI scav noise with PMC tags is how you lose the information that actually matters.
